[EVENT] Choc Beer brings home Gold from GABF!
The Great American Beer Festival, which is the largest commercial beer competition in the world, was held over the weekend in Denver, Colorado.
And Oklahoma’s very own Choc Beer Company, received a gold medal for their Signature Dubbel, which was entered into the Belgian-Style Abbey Ale category, beating out, among others Allagash Brewing which took silver and Deschutes Brewery getting the bronze.
There were 49,000 attendees to this years event, with 495 breweries entering 3,308 beers into the competitions. So getting any medal is a feat of its own. But winning gold is a big time award for Choc and for the state of Oklahoma beer scene in general. Since breweries can use these awards as a selling point on their products, this is just one more step in helping put Oklahoma on the beer map.
The GABF competition attracted 132 international beer judges from ten countries. Award-winning brewers received prestigious gold, silver and bronze medals in 78 beer categories, establishing the best examples of each style in the US.
So be sure to congratulate the guys over at Choc brewery for putting out another great product and winning a gold medal at the largest beer competition in the world.
