In 2008 over 52,000 beer enthusiasts voted at tasting events across the nation and as a result Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier was added to the Samuel Adams Brewmaster’s Collection.

What will it be in 2009??

Samuel Adams Pils:

Brewed with a blend of FIVE NOBLE HOP VARIETIES from each of the world’s remaining Noble Hop growing regions.

Similar to a traditional Czech Pilsner, our Samuel Adams Pils is brewed with a blend of 5 Noble Hop varieties from each of the world’s only remaining Noble Hop growing regions. The spicy, herbal and citrus hop character is well balanced by the Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt, adding honeyed malt character and full body without sweetness.

VS.

Samuel Adams Ale:

Dry hopped with AHTANUM, SIMCOE AND EAST KENT GOLDING HOPS for a powerful fruity and piney earthy aroma.

This IPA style Ale is brewed with a carefully selected blend of hops from American, traditional German and English growing regionis. It is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe and East Kent Golding hops for a powerful fruity and earthy aroma. The intense hop character is balanced by the traditional German-style malt lending a unique sweetness, full body and tart finish.

****************

This sounds like two really good beers, I always wondered why Sam Adams never came out with a nationally distributed IPA, come on now, its 2009 get with the program! And although I have never really gotten into the Czech Pilsener style, i’m always trying, so maybe this will be a good one.
